Central Flying Academy Monthly Breakfast Fly Away
Sunday 6th of December 2015, 0600 Zulu, the safari fly-away took off from Rand Airport and set course for Mabalingwe Nature reserve. The reserve is situated 28km west of Bela-Bela in the Limpopo province north of Gauteng. With a steadily westerly wind all the way, the flight was done just short of one and a halve hour, where the likes of wild hogs, ostriches and various other wild animals was awaiting our arrival.
To experience true nature, we were met by Ian Stevens in the open game drive vehicle and taken to the restaurant to start our safari with a breakfast and a much needed ice cold drink as the temperature was 30°C at 11am, and rapidly rising. After breakfast we went off in search for 4 of Africa’s Big 5 on a game drive taking us through some of the most breath-taking landscape, grasslands, rocky ravines and majestic mountaintops, giving us a glimpse of unspoiled Africa living at its’ own pace and by its’ own rules.
Lastly we had to start heading home, and leave the beautiful tranquillity of the bush behind. All packed up, pre-flights done and ready to go…. right after the wild hogs and ostriches got chased off the runway… we said good bye to Limpopo, and set course back to Rand Airport, home sweet home!
A fantastic time was had by all and we look forward to having more exciting experiences at our next destination…
